Mirage IIIO A3-27, 75 Sqn RAAF Butterworth Malaysia, 1980

Nicknamed "The French Lady" by the RAAF and chosen to replace Australia's F-86 Sabre, 100 Mirage 111Os and an additional two-seat 111Ds were purchased. Sadly during it's time in service 43 aircraft and 14 pilots were lost. From early 1988 the RAAF began phasing out the Mirage in favour of the more capable F/A-18 Hornet.
